I have my Driver's License exchanged. I have an SIN. I now have sufficient government ID. (I hope.) I also am on Dave's health insurance.

I also have a bank account. There is only one bank I found that has no banking fees, but with lack of (or bad if their looking at US records) credit, I have to wait seven days to use my deposits.

So I'm pretty much set up here. Of course it'll feel really finalized once I have an account at a video rental store. I couldn't before because of lack of ID. I plan on using a mail video rental service, but I want to register at a Blockbuster or something. Just. Because. I. Not Quite.

I got an email from the lawyers the other week stating that June 12, 2008 was to be my landing date and that they would send a letter.

I got this letter, went to get more passport photos because the extra one I had didn't have the date stamped to the back, gathered up my passport and Dave got the $490 money order. Dave had to come since I was being sponsored (even though he was barely talked to).

Our appointment was 9am-10am and we got there rather early. They weren't even open yet and it also seems they send several people letters stating those same appointment times. I can see how the process saves time.

They finally opened and we all filed in, showing our passports or IDs. I think I was in a daze because I handed it over, but watched the passport in his hand. Sensing he was getting suspicious, I instinctively looked into his eyes and smiled. What's the point of seeing an ID photo if they can't see your face? I think he figured out I was just kinda out of it and smiled back and let me go.

Then we stood in line to let them do an initial check of things like the photo (some people had to go have them taken) and if we didn't pay yet we had to go stand in the cashier line.

After we paid, we went into the courtroom where they had 3 tables set up and one of three women would call your name. I watched several people get things finalized and was surprised at how quick and painless my time there was.

I was asked to confirm things by initialing. Then I was asked a question I swear they would put in the database somewhere (or they did but they keep testing my honesty). "Have you ever been refused entry?" I answered no, then the question registered, "Wait. Yes. In April."

She asked her colleague something and I had to write yes on a line and initial. There was a bit of time to explain that "refusal to enter" and "requested to leave" were different things.

"Refusal to enter" is when you're at the border (or airport customs) and they make you turn around and go back. "Requested to leave" is when you're already in the country and they send you back.

In any case, after that slight confusion, I was asked to sign and "Congratulations."

I think I had the same "shock" of when I got my driver's license. That last part seemed way too easy. It was sort of like the very end of the Star Trek: Voyager Series. All the trials and waiting they went through and it was all over in the blink of an eye. It's sort of disorienting.

I tried to describe it to Dave (and myself) by saying I was nervous that I misunderstood or didn't remember or answered something wrong. I tried to comfort myself in the fact that all they ask is that you answer to the best of your knowledge and don't intentionally lie.

Then I realized I forgot to ask some questions: How do I get a Permanent Resident Card? (Dave said they'd mail it.) How and when can I get an SIN since from my understanding, I need that to get a job? (Dave said I can't get an SIN without the Permanent Resident Card.) How can I get the Health Care stuff?

So the process and paperwork are over, but I still have to wait for the card to continue on with anything really.

There are a few stipulations: You have to renew the card every 5 years and have to reside in the country for at least 3 years out of that. (If I remember correctly.)

There is a disclaimer on one of these posts that I am not an expert. I am posting from my own experiences and my memory isn't good at details.

I was imagining this would be my last post, but I don't think so. Because this last bit of the process seems more confusing than the first. All the benefits I thought would come automatically, I still have to do footwork and paperwork for.

So there's much more to come. I'll try to give a good idea of what to expect. That's why I did this after all. Something for people immigrating who would like to know what to expect. I wish I would have had something to read that would have helped me know what to expect from beginning to end.

I'll do an outline from what I've gone through so far (as best as I remember).

Hiring a lawyer. (Optional but a HUGE help.)

Going through Customs.

Application.

Paying fees.

    Medical Exam.

        Getting passport photos taken.

Finger Prints.

Waiting almost a year.

Dealing with Medical Exam complications.

Getting more passport photos taken.

Landing Date.

Recieving letter from Immigration stating when to come and what you need to bring.

Getting more passport photos taken.

Going into CIC offices.

Paying fee.

Short interview.

To come.

Permanent Resident Card.

Social Insurance Number.

Health Care Benefits.

Not being outside the country for more than two years. (Is that cumulative or consecutive?)

Reapplying in five years.

The lawyer's assistant did say I could apply for jobs as soon as I was landed, so I did send out my resumes, but the lack of SIN (which I need the Permanent Resident Card for) has me a bit concerned.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mapleleaf-camerican.blogspot.com/2008/06/done-not-quite.html' title='Done? It's just a matter of waiting, so it could be months before anything is added here again. For now, some suggestions for anyone wanting to immigrate to Canada.

See what the medical requires and get that done. Do it before applying if necessary especially if you can get it done where you are and with your insurance covering it. After all is well, then when you do it for Immigration you won't be going through what I have to go through.

Also, get several passport photos taken. Have them all date-stamped. You will need 3-5 for the medical. You will also need over $300 in cash.

It's All About The Number

I should had updated sooner than this. The medical tests keep turning up inconclusive, but cause enough concern for more tests. It's annoying. They say it shouldn't hold up the paperwork, because the paperwork could take another year anyway.

And since I just thought to update this because someone asked to see it, I decided to try to explain something. I came here on a six month visit pass. But they said I am on a dual intention something or other. I am here for a six month (once extended, so really, 12 month) visit but also intending to get permanent residence.

In Canada, you cannot work (legally) unless you have a SIN (Social Insurance Number) which works roughly like a SSN (Social Security Number). (I think.) Without that, you don't exist. (Again, I think.) Like the SSN is your very identity in the states, the SIN is the same here. Without that, I am still just an American visitor. (Again, all just guesses. I'm not 100% sure on that.)

I don't know the legal stuff, but it's the same reason the states get so upset about illegal immigrants taking jobs. We have lawyers helping us, and I asked them once if I could volunteer. They said it was ok so long as I was not receiving any monetary compensation.

This might be able to explain it better: CIC

I found some more information:

What is the Social Insurance Number?

1.7 The Social Insurance Number was created in 1964 as a file identifier for the Canada Pension Plan, Quebec Pension Plan, and employment insurance (then unemployment insurance) programs. Under the current Employment Insurance Act , the Canada Employment Insurance Commission assigns "a number that is suitable for use as a file number or account number or for data processing purposes and the number so assigned...is the person's Social Insurance Number...." The SIN is a unique, nine-digit number assigned to each individual, and a person legitimately has only one number at a time.

1.8 The government's current policy views the SIN as a file identifier or account number for specifically authorized activities (Exhibit 1.1). The Employment Insurance Act and Regulations require that a SIN be issued only after an applicant's identity and citizenship status have been determined.

Waiting

I have just one more thing to do for immigration. I'm going Tuesday to get the lab work done for the medical. Then it's just waiting. They should also be calling sometime next month to get me to come sign something that extends my visit status.

I have a volunteer job, but waiting for the lady who will interview me to call. It's in the graphic design field and even though I don't get paid, I do hope by the time I am allowed to get a paying job, they'll hire me or I can easily get a job since I'll have that on my resume.

The medical was nothing to be nervous about. Dave went with me, so that helped, but it was all rather simple. They just weighed me, measured my height, asked questions, checked my breathing, stomach (which kind of tickled), ears, eyes and gave me a manual breast exam. Not a big deal at all. I also had a chest x-ray in a different building. Dave and I had a short discussion as to why the medical offices were so spread out. I still don't know whose bright idea that was. But it wasn't too big of a deal.

For the ladies, they recommend you wait at least a week after your last period before taking lab tests. Which is why I had to wait.

Don't Wait

This is a bad time to procrastinate. We could had had done in weeks what took us about 2 months. Days even, I think. We finally finished up the questionare. The thing that threw me off I think was it seemed detailed and complicated. Essay tests always terrified me.

Then I think I stopped being worried about being legal sounding and factual and wrote like I write in my blog. "From the heart," as the cliche says. It's still true and factual, but I stopped caring about sounding "legal." I guess I was worried about sounding too "human" or too "sentimental." Ironically, that's the proof in it. That's what makes it sound real. Why was I trying to take away the very thing that was true? Truth is what these people need. It is sentimental. It's a real love and a real relationship. Forget sounding professional. I'm not trying to get a job. I'm trying to stay with my husband. It all poured out easily. It did take time and was rather longer than likely necessary, but it wasn't too hard.

You'd think when asked about our future plans, I'd get right on that. No. More days and I finally typed up a quick paragraph as requested. It was also fairly easy as Dave and I have had talks about the future and I have a good idea of what his ideas for the future are. I sent it to him to confirm, and no changes needed (I know my husband. :D) I sent it to the lawyer.

I roll my eyes at myself knowing I could had had all this done a month and weeks ago. I am just now getting photos developed we need to send them. I was going to do it earlier, but I can't find the CD. Dave's mom has a copy, but we don't go there until Saturday. The meeting to sign the papers is tomorrow. Like an epiphany, I realized I could upload the photos. I had uploaded them before to an album site, so I had the original photos on my computer. Dave also put the honeymoon photos on a disk so now I'm uploading them. Then I'll head out to pick them up and write dates, names and places on the back as requested.

I also have to get a medical exam and fingerprints taken soon. Likely next week. I figure at some point during the process, we'll meet with Immigration for an interview. Not worried about that. Nervous but not really more so than meeting with any stranger. What I'm concerned about now is extended visitor status. Will I be able to get one? And a work visa? Will I be able to volunteer until I can work?

Dig Deep

I said it before. If you meet a Canadian and plan to get serious, start recording. When and where and who.

I have to try to remember and otherwise ask others who were around and hope they remember. Dave met quite a lot of people when he was here and I am not so great at remembering dates.

They want to dig deep and I want to accommodate them, but my memory is lacking. And no one ever expects to have to give such detail of a relationship, so they don't think to keep records. I guess that's part of the test: to see if it's important enough to remember. It IS. I remember it happened. I remember the feelings and all that sentimental stuff. It's the record-like details they want, but I can only try.

One of the tips I leave here as I hope people who need to will stumble across here: Write down when, where and who. When you did something, where you went, who you and he/she met. They will ask.

I still need to go for the medical and the fingerprint taking. I'm not too annoyed. The lazy part of me is grunting at all the work, but I have nothing to hide and neither does Dave.

It's just trying to figure out exactly what kind of information they want. Sometimes I'll answer and wonder if "NA" would be all I needed to put. In a situation like this, where there is nothing to hide, too much information might be better than not enough.

They can ask about our sex-life if they want. I'll be beet red and shy, but if they -need- to know, they can have it. If they ask for dates when we had sex, that'd be a little tricky.

Long Process

Here I am in Edmonton. At customs, I had to talk to immigration and after about a half hour interview, I was told I would be granted six months to visit, but being a dual intention, I would need to start the paperwork immediately. Not a big deal as we were planning on that.

This morning we had a meeting with the lawyer. Very nice woman and laid out everything. I have to gather documents, fill out forms, have my fingerprints sent for a check and have a medical examination. There's also emails and pictures we have to gather.

After six to seven months, I can apply to work if I want to and, of course, if I get an extended visit. I believe I will. The whole process for permanent residence could last from a year to a year and a half.

I feel a little overwhelmed, but it's really not that much. The paperwork shouldn't take long at all, but there is waiting. I've grown used to waiting by now, though. At least now there are things to do toward the goal.

Balance of Hope & Avoiding Disappointment

I bought the plane tickets. I made sure the departure matched Dave's perfectly. I looked forward to taking the trip with him for once. In a paranoid fit that lasted a long time, I decided I wanted to get return tickets for two weeks later. I was sure they'd send me back the next day, but I thought they'd let me stay two weeks if I already had the tickets. I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment thinking if I had tickets for six months, I'd lose that money AND likely have to pay something to return on the flight they chose like last time.

Well, it occurred to me the day after that if I said I was staying for six months and they asked to see the return ticket, which would say 2 weeks, they would either get suspicious and not let me in at all or make me use the two week return ticket with another threat of arrest. I had decided I really needed 6 months return.

Getting this done is hectic. The reason (basically change of mind) is not covered in the insurance so it will cost $130 to get this done and unless I can choose my own new package, I won't be on the same trip there as Dave. I think I can handle that. It's better than spending $400 for a one way back here. I think we'll do the exchange. It's cheaper and at least this time I get to wait with Dave in the terminal before the first flight. I'm also used to traveling alone. I've done it several times already. I should have the ticket taken care of and sent back to me by today. I'm still nervous about going through customs, but today is a peaceful day where I'm more, "What will be will be."

I do hope that within that six months, we can either get an extension or we can get permanent residence for me. Otherwise, I'm coming back here for who knows how long. But six months is a gloriously long time even if I do have to come back. And even if they send me back on, "the next flight out," this time as well, at least I would have had a week with Dave. I think that's what was so bothersome last time. We met and among the turmoil and heartbreak, or because of it, it felt like we were together just yesterday. It still broke me to know I couldn't be with him long.

If need be, I'll also give CIC this blog. I tried to keep it straight and dry, but I think I've made it clear this is about two people that love each other. Two people desperate to be together, to share their lives. I have no other motive. I do plan to get a job and maybe even continue some education once I get the proper immigration papers in place. Our, above all, first priority, however, is to just get me there. I itch that I won't be able to work for awhile, but I can't stand to be without him. We understand the rules better and we're trying to follow them to the best we can and by legal advice.

CIC has mentioned things about compassion and all that. To qualify for that, Dave and I have to tell complete strangers details about our relationship. We're both private people, so of course it bothers us a bit, but something we're willing to do. I have a feeling it's going to be a thorough, long, tense time in our lives. But it'll be worth it. On another note, if it was for any other reason, I could have more patience about it. I'm in love so patience, emotional laziness and fear go out the window.

As for the wedding and mini-honeymoon, things are reserved and planning is in place. I have my gown and Dave has the rings. I'm excited about it. We're going to spend a couple nights in a "nice" hotel. "Nice" being it has a jacuzzi and a fireplace in it. Things that lend to some terribly romantic notions. The nice hotel also being in Hot Springs and there are a couple nice things we can do. I'm trying not to spend any money as we're kind of tight on that, but there is a the massage for Dave and a Riverboat dinner cruise, which is quite affordable. The rest of the week we'll be in a cheaper hotel. I say mini-honeymoon because we're planning for a real one in the mountains.

I can't do anything about the marriage license until he gets here, since we have to be together to get it. However, because of computers and likely being a small county, the process can be done within hours if need be. We're getting it the day he comes in, signed the next day and taking it to be recorded when we come back from Hot Springs. Of course, we'll get printed copies. We're also going to print out some of our emails to each other. There are a ton. It's a necessary chore that could lend to reminiscing. We'll also be taking pictures of the wedding and I plan to take a camera (or buy a disposable one) to take pictures of the rest of the week.

[Update: My return trip still matches Dave's.]

The Plan

We're getting married when Dave is coming here in late June. We're making sure to take pictures and will go through our emails and print some for "evidence." That will be a chore as there are thousands. I don't think I'm exaggerating. All we need are a few where we talked about "us." Discussing plans, dreams and such. Just enough to prove that we really love each other and want to be married.

Then we'll have a day or two in a nice place, then the rest of the time in a cheap hotel. Maybe.

I plan on going back with him and declaring a 6-month personal visit.

If the paper work can not be completed in that time, I return here and wait out the process.

Added 05-13-08 I almost didn't get through. They also don't like your spouse answering for you. There is more needed than just a marriage license. Get a lawyer or check with CIC for what more is needed. A person can come in declaring a 6-month visitation, but it is more complicated than just declaring it. If you do intend to apply for Permanent Residency or a Visa while there, they'll make a note of it. You will have to apply as soon as possible or they may not extend the visitation.

Inserting Humor

I don't imagine immigration calls up a newly integrated citizen's previous country, "Yea. If I am unable to, there is something else they can do so I can immigrate, but I have to stay here for awhile. I'll give more information on that if I have to deal with it. It's something about "overseas."

But I decided to call and check with CIC. Well, if you are outside Canada, they want you to contact your consulate. From what I understand, Buffalo, NY is the only office that deals with immigration, so they are my preferred office to deal with. I called and they do not accept phone inquiries. Just a heads up. Use the email.

This is a link to the Buffalo Office information.

Well, it would be pretty helpful to know that Dave and I are getting married in June. I very much hope to be able to go back with him, but also ready to accept that I might just have to wait here for awhile.

Marriage has been the ultimate desired result of our relationship since September. Actually, earlier than that, but I wasn't 100% sure till I actually got to see him physically.

Otherwise, we wouldn't bother with all this. I was nervous about being a wife, but after saying goodbye to him in Edmonton before even saying hello, and feeling that horrible heartbreak, I realized I want to be his wife even if I do feel nervous.

The thing is, I have never had anything I needed to do that made me feel so nervous I get sick to my stomach, but so brave, I did it anyway.

I cannot explain this love that makes living without him seem like a surreal sad dream, but I have used my head and I have stepped back to look at it all. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I just wish it didn't have to be so complicated.

I told a friend that the only proof these people need is to see how we look at each other. That sounded cheesy and an actor can pull off that look. I can understand the need for proof. I just figured it was obvious when they saw how it drained me to hear I had to come back.

Some Tips

If you're starting a relationship with a Canadian, start saving emails and taking pictures when you're together. Just in case you decide you want to marry him/her. Dave informed me that we'll have to show proof in way of printed emails and pictures.

Emails are easy. We send an average of 100 back and forth a day. Pictures are not so easy. He took one of me by surprise when he was here. I took none when I was there. I was too busy with my eyes taking it all in to use a camera.

But when he comes down here again, we'll take some. I'll look like crap, but they aren't going to care. They just want to see proof that we were and are together and want to be together in the future.

They want to make sure I'm not just using him to move there.

I admit, I LOVE the idea of living in Edmonton. But if I were to move there for any other reason than Dave, I could wait until I could get enough points and saved $10,000 so I could immigrate by work status. Or at least until I could get a temp job visa.

I am in a hurry because I have not been the same since falling in love. I have a decent life here. Awesome job security, a nice place to live. I have a very easy life. But I'm hardly living. Even if I had a car.

At the least, June is possibly when I'll be able to finally be there.

Added 05-13-08 Also, note dates of milestones in your relationship. Namely, when you met, when you got serious, etc. Corny things like first kiss will be ok, but be appropriate and leave out details. They will ask for this. If you want to include an informal letter expressing the personal side of things, I don't see how this would hurt. I did that with our lawyer. I tried to keep things straight and appropriate in the forms, but I wanted to express other things.

How to Eat an Elephant

To eat an elephant, you take it bite by bite.

But what if you don't know where to bite first. That analogy got gross fast.

My point is that we got a lawyer. Dave's already talked to them and there are options. I've rambled questions and such to Dave. Suppose it would help to give the site:

Canada’s official source of immigration and citizenship information.
I am not mad really. Red tape exists in life. Point blank. What I am a little upset about is that they don't seem to make it very clear about something that can have serious issues.

I made big plans. I packed. I was all pumped.

Good thing for me, I had a home and a job that was promised if I came back. I didn't expect to come back. Especially not so soon.

But some people have no where to go. Some people are refugees. What about them? Are they denied even a few days to get the paperwork they need?

They will send you back if you waltz up to the desk and declare you plan on moving there. No ifs ands or buts. You're going back.

So be sure to look at the website before planning a trip. Call and talk to someone as the website doesn't seem too clear. type='text'>[T- 6 days]

6 days and counting.

Both suitcases and carry on are inventoried. Gave boss her keys. Got my cash out. Backed up laptop. Box is sent off. And other stuff I did that I can't quite remember. But all that's really left is waiting till Monday when I'll do laundry and stuff.

Well, I have a couple dinner plans with people. Mom and Dad and hopefully my aunt and I will go see "Catch and Release" at the dollar theatre and then eat at Applebees.

Tomorrow night is dinner with some other friends. Another friend sometime after the weekend.

Tuesday I'll likely be a ball of nerves.

It would seem I have a slight sinus infection. It better clear up. Another hope for being in Canada that these bi-yearly infections won't occur.

Canada has pollen too, unfortunately.

Inventory

When sending a package to Canada, you will need to list in detail what's in the package.

A friend (who lives in Canada and had a job dealing with shipping) said to slowboat it ground to the Edmonton hub. Ok great.

The box I have is smaller than the one he estimated for me.

I got to the Fedex/Kinkos place and ground wasn't even an option. She called and things were set in place where they could hold it at the hub for 5 days but it would be there tomorrow.

It cost $180+, slightly over what my friend estimated, but it was still under $200 so I said go ahead.

Then she hands me a form and says, "You're going to hate me, but you have to open the box and count the clothes and stuff." (paraphrased)

Well, I was shocked and then flustered. I didn't hate her. She didn't write the rules.

She refunds my card and I take the box back home.

I whine in IRC about red tape. I was told that I could just call and do ground. I had been at the express place.

I call and after two or so transfers I talk to the right person.

"You need an account number."

-sigh- "Ok, how can I get one."

So I'm transferred again. Give my information. Credit card doesn't go through. I explain that it probably has the old address on it still.

Transferred again. This woman gets things handled for me.

But I still have to fill out the commercial form and I have to wait 24 hours before calling and scheduling a pickup.

So I settle into the fact, this is just something I have to do. Can't get around it. I cut the box open, pull stuff out and make inventory. A slightly overly categorized inventory.

I get things taped back up and make a spreadsheet.

I go to my dad's computer to print it out. There are lines. Not enough ink.

-more sigh-

Well, I can't even call until this afternoon, so if parents pick up ink while they're out, we're ok. Or I can print it when I go to work.

In conclusion, when shipping to Canada, fill out a commercial invoice and unless you WANT express, call instead. You must have an account number. They will help you with that when you call.

I also suggest taking inventory of the contents of suitcases when you travel to Canada. Make 5 copies of each. You will need 3 to attach to the commercial invoice, 1 to leave with someone "here" and one to take with you. Also send a copy to someone at your destination if possible.

Not only is it a good idea in case they want you to fill out a commercial invoice or other paper work at the airport, it's good (for me anyway) to know EXACTLY what's in there.

This was a whine, traveling tips, it's all going to be ok kind of post.

Nice Surprise

Well, I found it rather accidentally. After a movie with mom and aunt, we went to Burlington Coat Factory. Looking at the clothes just depressed me, so I went to home decor. I saw luggage and thought maybe I could find something there. What I found wasn't what I was expecting, but was exactly what I was looking for. A laptop bag. It's double the depth of the one that came with the laptop. It has wheels and a handle thingie. Looks sturdy and tough. Lovely!

And, gloria, the price tag.

Three dollars and eighty-seven cents. Seriously. $3.87

It was so weird, that the cashier called over her superior and they checked something or other but eventually just shrugged.

My guess, from the little observation of the tag, that the bag came out in 2002. What I cannot figure out is why no one snagged it. From the sticker layers, it was marked down more than 5 times.

Maybe another sign that I really am doing the right thing?

I did measure it, gaining a subtle odd look from the customer service clerk and then the men's tailor. But they were helpful. It fits within carryon baggage regulations. WEEE!!!

Tomorrow I plan on taking stuff out of the old laptop case and packing it in the wonderful new one. I also plan to finalize the box and maybe start packing other things I can pretty much not need for a week. Just so it's all pretty much packed.

April 1 I will go with my parents to visit some family out of town. Dad said we'll be back that night or the next morning. I should have plenty of time to do laundry and final packing. If I stay about that size I shouldn't have to pay more than $100 to ship a box there.

So Saturday I go and do some measurements. Found a box about half that size. I take it in.

I measured the suitcase and according to the luggage limits I found, it's 3 inches too big.

Now I've been saying whether I have to pay $100 for that three inches is up to the agent I have to deal with.

But what if it's simply the set size due to some uncontrollable situation? Like size of whatever the luggage goes into?

So I have a box that would go perfectly fine within airline specifications and a suitcase I can send to Edmonton for about $100.

I could take the box AND the suitcase to the airport with me. Then the $100 is just a gamble.

But I've put myself in a box here I think. [hehe] Pun not intended, but accepted.

I'm going to get a bigger box and pack what I can in there to send.

I'm going to get a slightly smaller suitcase. And I can take another one if need be.

But still whittling out things. Constant whittling it seems. It's starting to bother me a little, but I'll deal with it.

Am I Moving or Dying...

Geographically, I'm just moving north. Politically, I'm leaving my life in America to start one in Canada and there's a buttload of red tape and paperwork and officials and signatures and such involved.

And I told my sister in law it's like I'm "settling my affairs" before I die or something. Dealing with bank accounts, trying to pay off debts, going through important papers and all.

I'm constantly having to remind myself of contradicting facts. This is a HUGE deal and I need to try and think of all that should possibly be done. And then, it's not that big a deal; if you forget something, it'll work out.

It's odd. I've freaked out and Dave's had to calm me. Dave has, only once that I recall, been concerned (he doesn't "freak") about something that I was the reassuring voice in.

All in all, it will work out. It's complicated, but I'm surprised at how well I'm handling it and how well I can organize myself. How quickly I thought of the things I need to do.

My sister in law said, "Do you know what that means?"

"That I'm grown up?"

"Well, no...well, that too, but that this is the right thing."

I paraphrased that last bit.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conversion
And one of the several minor things I have to get used to.
